CJ Barrie Inc. is a master franchisee of Control Janitorial Inc. located in Kitchener, Ontario. Like any franchise, we have rules and regulations to abide by. This is also the case with all master franchisees across Ontario, in Kitchener, London, St. Catherines, Mississauga, Milton and Sarnia.

Our team is made up of independent entrepreneurs who each own a CJ Barrie Franchise. When we get a new contract to clean an office, that contract is sold to the franchisee, who then begins to operate in that particular business. The cleaning is done by one of the franchisees or one of their registered employees. No one else is allowed in the business unless they are registered with us.

There is peace of mind in knowing who is coming and going in your office when you are not there. Once the contract is paid for, it belongs to the franchisee, but we, on the back end, issue invoices and do collections on their behalf. The franchisee is responsible for the work they do and the security of the building.

They are responsible to us as their Master Franchisee to attend as required and to the customer to do an excellent job. Losing the contract due to poor performance is very unlikely because the franchisee has a vested interest in doing an excellent job. They bought and paid for the contract, and will do everything in their power to keep it.

We keep a company logbook on site for you to communicate with the cleaner as a first line of communication. When the cleaner arrives, he or she will look at the logbook to see if there are any entries for that date. They are to acknowledge the message by either a check mark, initial or both to say they read the message and will do as requested.

When the cleaner arrives, they will log into our online timekeeping system, begin their work and then log out when they are done. If there are any irregularities, the cleaner is to notify us and the police if necessary. This is for our purpose, as well as protection for the cleaner in the event that something should happen after they leave. We know when they were there, when they exited the building, and how long they spent at that location. This has insurance implications.

Knowing this information can be crucial to any claim that the cleaner was involved in an incident at the location. We are covered by $5M liability insurance, are compliant with WSIB and have a $5000 Fidelity Bond.
